Tooth loss, edentulism, and periodontal disease affect millions of people worldwide, in every age group, and on every continent. This is prompting a growing awareness and demand among patients for high quality esthetic treatments and dental restorations.
In the face of this growing patient demand, dental students should graduate with a strong knowledge and experience in the latest dental implant techniques, treatments, and solutions. Additionally, local and regional regulations mandate that patient care standards and academic curricula be continuously updated.
Enabling educators.
The Nobel Biocare Global University Partner Program was created to enable educators to meet these needs by giving students the opportunity to learn to integrate implant therapy, treatment planning and diagnosis as well as CAD/CAM dentistry into overall treatment plans for optimal patient care.
Building university partnerships. Worldwide.
The Global University Partner Program was inaugurated in November 2005 with a signed partnership agreement with the New York University College of Dentistry. Currently, 23 well-renowned universities from all over the world are active partners in the program.
Driving innovation in education.
The Global University Partner Program drives innovation in education by helping institutions better leverage their resources. The program supports teaching that satisfies the most modern curriculum standards by enabling peer-to-peer best practices, implementation strategies, and advice on how to successfully apply program parameters. It also offers modern education tools, including the University Partner Program website, which comprises an extensive web-based Resource Library.
Finally, Nobel Biocare supports partners with science- and evidence-based solutions, as well as components, to set up state-of-the-art facilities for hands-on clinical experience.
Preparing young dentists.
Approximately 2,250 dental students from the Partner Universities graduating each year with both didactic and hands-on experience using integrated crown, bridge, implant solutions, and CAD/CAM dentistry techniques. Thanks to the efforts of this program, young dentists are better prepared to improve their patients’ quality of life and to remain competitive in the market place.
