University Partner Program testimonials

Professor Lin Ye, University of Peking, China

"Oral implantology is an advanced technique in dentistry which is significant to let the excellent student master. The destination and the dedication of our university is to foster outstanding students for the society. The Nobel Biocare University Partner Program provides support and great opportunities for teaching staff to achieve their object.

Establishing the curriculum of oral implantology in the program of undergraduate students has great meaning, and can promote the development of oral implantology in China, as well as popularize implant dentistry in China. Implant dentistry is a prosperous career which students are interested in. This has a great attraction for us as a university.

Every student gets the general information of oral implantology and are able to do simple cases. This can lay the foundation for the students to carry on implant dentistry. The students can distinguish the quality of implant systems, and are able to judge the treatment result. When they graduate, they can service the patients with both the technique and the equipment.

With the advanced technology and high quality products given as support, we can learn more from Nobel Biocare. The faculty staff dedicates themselves to the teaching program, showing our daily work and beautiful cases. These can enhance the reputation of our department and improve university's competitive power. The University Partner Program also offers the chances for the faculty to increase the international communication with other universities."

Professor Ignace Naert, University of Leuven, Belgium

"The University of Leuven joined Nobel Biocare Global University Partner Program to introduce implant surgery in the clinical undergraduate dentistry curriculum and to stimulate the use of CAD/CAM generated restorations.

The support of the Global University Partner Program made it possible for us to teach under-graduate students with more implant dentistry in its broadest sense (clinically, preclinically, surgically and prosthetically, besides well based knowledge on technical aspects of the restorative part (scanning, computer design, etc.).

Moreover, in the future, digital implant planning will become important also for the graduate student. We want to be prepared for that.

It also helps the university to motivate patients to be candidates for tooth- and implant-supported restorations, because of the lower fees charged.

The students see implant dentistry as a reality to be used when they graduate. Even when the case might be too difficult, they will think about the indication and refer the patient to the specialist. When the case is well defined they will be able to do the surgery and the prosthetics themselves."

Professor Zheng Jia-wei, Vice Dean, Shanghai Jiatong University, School of Stomatology, China

"The purpose to join the Nobel Biocare Global University Partner Program is to provide an opportunity for our undergraduates to learn the cutting edge of knowledge of dental implants, which will benefit their future career.

The dental implant system, the training course, and the academic symposium are all attractive for our staff member and undergraduates.

The positive outcomes we expect from being in the Program are; to use the Nobel Biocare dental implant system to treat patients with missing teeth, to teach the undergraduates to learn the basic knowledge of dental implant system, and essential skills of dental implantation."

Professor Li Dehua, The Fourth Military Medical University, China

"Implant dentistry has gradually been incorporated into the routine practice of dental treatment since the late of the last century, leading to a great demand for the education of implant concept and techniques even early in the college study. Nevertheless, the reality of implant training is that it is hung up and predominated by the continual education after graduation. Setting up the undergraduate curriculum of implant dentistry is the request of disciplinary advancement and professionals as well.

This University Partner Program funded by Nobel Biocare is globally orientated. It does not only initiate and enhance the undergraduate program of implant dentistry in our school but also establishes a world-level platform for academic exchanges.

By this Program, the benefit we can get and expect is to share the knowledge and teaching materials and furthermore to formulate a standardized curriculum. "

Dr. Shi Bin, Department of Oral Implantology, The School & Hospital of Stomatology

"In joining the Nobel Biocare Global University Program we are able to teach the students the systemic theories of the dental implant and can understand the standard procedure of the implant surgery and restoration.

Positive aspects we expect from being in the Program are that students can correctly select the indication of the dental implant after the teaching courses and do the normal implant surgery and restoration on the model by hands-on."

Young graduating dentists entering the workforce are equipped with a solid learning experience based on sound educational principles in dental implants, which allows them to hit the ground running."

"Undergraduate curriculum for dental implant had not been developed in Guanghua School of Stomatology, Sun Yat-sen University before this Global University Partner Program. So, it is a real good chance to enhance the teaching in this aspect. The students joined the course to get a basic training in the field definitely gain more than they expected for their future career, when compared with those did not have such a chance.
